today was probably one of the highlights of my
young teenage life. not only did i get to score
the new and phenomenal 21st Century Breakdown by
none other than the talented Green Day, but I
also found Gerard Way's comic, The Umbrella
Academy(I got "Apocalypse Suite", an entire
collection of the first series, and five of the
original issues of "Dallas", the second, but i
could not find the second issue of the series.)
mkay, i'll start with Vert Jour("green day" en
francais). so, i've been eagerly waiting for 21st
Century Breakdown ever since I first heard of
it. Like, seriously, i was pretty much hyper-
ventilating the morning it released(that would be
yesterday.) i was shaking in my school seats in
class and reminding people so much, they'd get
close to slapping me. anyway, to the album
itself, i got it this morning(i was at sam's
place last night as usual, so i didn't go get
it.) my dad actually came with me 'coz he wanted
it too. so, we're speeding all over town blasting
it. we even stopped by the comic shop because we
wanted to drive around a little longer to listen
to it. it was there is got my late birthday
present...
THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY. it is written by
gerard way[my chemical romance] and illustrated
by gabriel ba. it. is freaking. amazing. (not
unlike 21st century breakdown.)i will not talk
about it. no summaries. you go buy it for
yourself. just like 21st century breakdown. you
go buy it. i'm not going to tell you how freaking
awesome it is. you find out for yourself.
oh yeah... this was also pretty schweet. i got
myself a rorschach action figure when i went to
the comic shop! you know, from watchmen? yes.
he's beautiful and he matches my watchmen poster
with rorschach on it. being a nerd is freaking
sweet.
